Sidewalk Vendor |
|
|
|
A person who, from a conveyance, sells food or beverages upon a public sidewalk or other pedestrian path. The term includes without limitation a nonstationary sidewalk vendor (one who moves from place to place with occasional stops for the purpose of vending) and a stationary sidewalk vendor (one who vends from a fixed location). The term does not include a person operating as a vendor, or a vending operation, located on property other than a public sidewalk or other pedestrian path. |

Apply for and obtain a Health Permit for each sidewalk vending conveyance and a health card for each operator from the Southern Nevada Health Department. For more information call (702) 759-1000 or visit their web site at www.southernnevadahealthdistrict.org. |

Maintain public liability and property damage insurance which shall protect the public against any and all claims for personal injury damages, including death, and property damages which may arise out of or in connection with any operations or activities of the mobile food vendor. The amount of such insurance shall not be less than $250,000 for injuries, including death, to any one person, and subject to the same limit for each person in an amount of not less than $500,000, including death, to more than one person on account of any one accident, and property damage insurance in an amount not less than $50,000 for each accident. A certificate of insurance shall be provided to the Department prior to the issuance of a business license and the City shall be named as an additional insured party. Any insurance coverage provided under this Section shall also contain a provision that any cancellation or material change in the coverage shall not become effective until the City has been given thirty days prior written notification. |

Total fees due with the application are $200 ($150 license fee + $50 processing fee). If your business is approved for operation from your home and you reside in the city limits of Las Vegas an additional one time fee of $50 is required for a Home Occupation Permit. Make check payable to CITY OF LAS VEGAS. |

Business license applications are sent to the Business Licensing Division for review and inspection, if applicable. Upon approval and completion of all items listed above, the Business Licensing Division will issue your business license. |
