City of Las Vegas Business License Instructions

Animal Drawn Vehicle


A business which operates an animal-drawn vehicle for hire.

1. Confirm the proposed business location is within the Las Vegas city limits and properly zoned for this activity, if applicable. For information on planning, zoning, and building requirements, call (702) 229-6301 or visit City Hall, 495 S. Main St., Las Vegas, Nevada 89101.

2. Identify all locations of curbside areas to be used for the regular pick-up and discharge of passengers and all locations used for off street storage of vehicles and the stabling of animals. 3. Obtain an animal inspection certificate from a licensed Nevada Veterinarian for each animal to be used in the operation of the business and present evidence that animals to be used in the business are acclimated to all street related noises. Each animal shall be identified by age, color, sex and other obvious markings. A clear photograph of each animal must accompany the business license application.

4. Provide proof of compliance with the Nevada Secretary of State located at 2250 Las Vegas Boulevard North, North Las Vegas, Nevada 89030. 5. Obtain and maintain a comprehensive general public liability insurance policy in the amount of one million dollars, combined single limit, with an excess umbrella policy of five million dollars. Coverage under this policy shall include as a minimum the following: premises/operation, independent contractors, bodily injury, property damage, products/completed operation, contractual liability and operation of animal drawn vehicle. Insurance coverage shall be issued by a carrier licensed within the State of Nevada and approved by the city attorney. Any coverage provided shall also contain a provision that cancellation or material change in the coverage shall not become effective until the city has been given sixty days prior written notification. In addition, the city of Las Vegas shall be named as an additional insured party under this insurance.

6. 30 days prior to commencing business, apply on-line at https://www.lasvegasnevada.gov/dashboard.

7. Fees due at time application is submitted are $150 ($100 license fee + $50 processing fee). License fees are based on the gross revenue of the business and are due in advance semiannually. If your business is approved for operation from your home and you reside in the city limits of Las Vegas an additional one time fee of $50 is required for a Home Occupation Permit.
