City of Las Vegas Business License Instructions

Temporary Merchant

Any person who engages in the temporary business of selling, offering for sale, or soliciting orders for goods or services from a permanent or fixed location. A business is temporary if its operation at the fixed location is for a period of 31days or less.

1. Confirm the proposed business location is within the Las Vegas city limits and properly zoned for this activity, if applicable. For information on planning, zoning, and building requirements, call (702) 229-6301 or visit City Hall, 495 S. Main St., Las Vegas, Nevada 89101.

3. In order to ensure that the applicant can commence operations as soon as desired items listed above must be submitted at least ten working days prior to commencing business to the City of Las Vegas, Business Licensing Division located at 495 S. Main St., Las Vegas NV 89101.

4. Fees due with the application are based on the number of days the temporary merchant will be at the address identified for business operations. (1-5 days = $10.00 per day: 6-10 days = $100.00: 11-15 days = $150.00: 16-20 days = $200.00: 21-25 days = $250.00; 26-31 days = $300.00.) In addition, a one time per application processing fee of $50.00 will be assessed. Make checks payable to CITY OF LAS VEGAS.

5. Business license applications are sent to the Planning Department and Fire Department for review and inspection, if applicable. Upon approval from these agencies and completion of all items listed above, the Business Licensing Division will issue your business license.
