Special Care Facility


A commercial facility that provides for overnight care of one or more of the following: 1) physical, mental illness or infirmity, 2) treatment of drug or alcohol dependency, 3) rehabilitation which requires confinement to a facility, but does not require medical, surgical or other specialized treament normally provided by a hospital.

1. Confirm the proposed business location is within the Las Vegas city limits and properly zoned for this activity. 2. Obtain a modified medical detoxification facility license from the Nevada Bureau of Licensure and Certification located at 4220 South Maryland Parkway, Building D-810, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89110. 3. Provide proof of compliance with the Nevada Secretary of State located at 555 East Washington Avenue, Suite 5200, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101. 4. 30 days prior to commencing business, bring a completed license application and all applicable items listed above to the Business Licensing Division, 333 N. Rancho Drive, Las Vegas NV 89106.

5. Fees due at time application is submitted are $150.00 ($100.00 license fee + $50.00 processing fee). Make checks payable to CITY OF LAS VEGAS. License fees are based on the gross revenue of the business and are due in advance semiannually.

6. Business license applications are sent to the Planning Department and Fire Department for review and inspection. Upon approval from these agencies and completion of all items listed above, the Business Licensing Division will issue your business license.
