Bail agent or bail enforcement agent is authorized, employed or contracted by a surety or bail agent to solicit transactions; execute or countersign undertakings of bail; pledge currency, money orders or cashier's checks as security for a bail bond in connection with judicial proceedings and receive or be promised money or other things of value; enforce the terms and conditions of a defendant's release from custody on bail in a criminal proceeding; locate, apprehend, or surrender a a defendant to custody.

1. Confirm the proposed business location is within the Las Vegas city limits and properly zoned for this activity, if applicable. 2. Obtain a state bail bonds certificate from the Nevada State Insurance Commission in accordance with NRS Chapter 697. Call (702) 486-4009 for additional information. Insurance Commission is located at 2501 East Sahara 302, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89104.

3. Provide proof of compliance with the Nevada Secretary of State located at 2250 Las Vegas Boulevard North, North Las Vegas, Nevada 89030. Provide proof of compliance with the Nevada Department of Taxation located at 555 East Washington Avenue, Suite 1300, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101. 4. 30 days prior to commencing business, apply on-line at https://DSCportal.LasVegasNevada.gov.

5. Total fees due with the application are $300 ($250 license fee + $50 processing fee). If your business is approved for operation from your home and you reside in the city limits of Las Vegas an additional one time fee of $50 is required for a Home Occupation Permit. Make check payable to CITY OF LAS VEGAS.

6. Business license applications are sent to the Planning Department and Fire Department for review and inspection, if applicable. Upon approval from these agencies and completion of all items listed above, the Business Licensing Division will issue your business license.
