Bail Agent / Enforcement Agent


Bail agent or bail enforcement agent is authorized, employed or contracted by a surety or bail agent to solicit transactions; execute or countersign undertakings of bail; pledge currency, money orders or cashier's checks as security for a bail bond in connection with judicial proceedings and receive or be promised money or other things of value; enforce the terms and conditions of a defendant's release from custody on bail in a criminal proceeding; locate, apprehend, or surrender a a defendant to custody.

1. Confirm the proposed business location is within the Las Vegas city limits and properly zoned for this activity. 2. Obtain a state bail bonds certificate from the Nevada State Insurance Commission in accordance with NRS Chapter 697. Call (702) 486-4009 for additional information. Insurance Commission is located at 2501 East Sahara 302, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89104.

3. Provide proof of compliance with the Nevada Secretary of State located at 555 East Washington Avenue, Suite 5200, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101. Provide proof of compliance with the Nevada Department of Taxation located at 555 East Washington Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101. 4. 30 days prior to commencing business, bring a completed license application and all applicable items listed above to the Business Licensing Division, 333 N. Rancho Drive, Las Vegas NV 89106.

5. Total fees due with the application are $250 ($200 license fee + $50 processing fee). Make check payable to CITY OF LAS VEGAS.

6. Business license applications are sent to the Planning Department and Fire Department for review and inspection. Upon approval from these agencies and completion of all items listed above, the Business Licensing Division will issue your business license.
