Apartment House (five or more units)


A structure which contains five or more apartment dwelling units and which does not qualify as a townhouse dwelling, residence hotel, condominium, or multiple-unit structure that is owned cooperatively or in common.

1. Confirm the proposed business location is within the Las Vegas city limits and properly zoned for this activity, if applicable. 2. Provide proof of compliance with the Nevada Secretary of State located at 2250 Las Vegas Boulevard North, North Las Vegas, Nevada 89030. 3. The licensee or on-site manager of an apartment house with five or more units must show proof of having enrolled or completed the Las Vegas Crime Free Multifamily Housing Program presented by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. 4. Each principal and each employee of the business must obtain and maintain a valid work card pursuant to Las Vegas Municipal Code Chapter 6.86. Call (702) 828-3271 for additional information.

5. 30 days prior to commencing business, apply on-line at https://DSCportal.LasVegasNevada.gov.

6. Fees due at time application is submitted are based on the number of units. ($50.00 processing fee + ($75.00 for 5 - 10 units or $75.00 plus $5.00 for each additional apartment in excess of 10)). Make checks payable to CITY OF LAS VEGAS.

7. Business license applications are sent to the Planning Department and Fire Department for review and inspection, if applicable. Upon approval from these agencies and completion of all items listed above, the Business Licensing Division will issue your business license.
